Education:Richard Jackson, PT, OCS: Richard has practiced physical therapy for over 38 years. He graduated in 1971 from Ithaca College/Albert Einstein College of Medicine with a Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy. He received an honorary Doctor of Science degree from Shenandoah University in 2000. Mr. Jackson is highly regarded as a clinician, educator, and researcher.
Specialties:Mr. Jackson has taught nationally and internationally in the field of lower extremity bio-mechanics, gait, spinal and pelvic joint dysfunction. He has presented his research in conferences in England, Australia, Austria, Canada, India, and of course, the United States. “Clinical research is essential if we are to understand what works and what does not” says Jackson.
In the past twenty five years Mr. Jackson has taught over 400 continuing education courses. About his teaching he states, “I can be most effective as a clinician by teaching therapists how to treat their patients better. I touch thousands of patients every day through the therapists who have taken my courses. I am personally involved in the training programs for our therapists, assistants, athletic trainers and exercise specialists. Comprehensive education and training is how we achieve our goals of quality and consistency.”
Fun Facts:After running 19 marathons with six trips to Boston, Richard has switched focus to golf. Some would say, (including his wife), that it is becoming an obsession. He loves to dance, enjoys country music, skeet shooting, and has never met an ice cream that he didn’t like. His overriding obsession is travel, (“I don’t care where I’m going as long as I’m making good time”).

Anna Jackson has worked over 30 years as an Administrator, and Entrepreneur. Raised in Southern California she had an early introduction to animation which turned to a concentration in computer systems development and design. Her interest in animation production waned in college, but the creative skill set followed her into the business world.
Anna oversees the marketing, human resource, and information technology aspects of The Jackson Clinics (TJC). In her time with the company she has to lead the implementation of a fully integrated electronic medical record (EMR) system, introduced and revamped the internal communication network, and directed award-winning ad campaigns.
Anna studied at the University of California Los Angeles. Her career has provided her the good fortune of working for or in association with companies such as Disney, Nordstrom and Merisel (now known as Coloredge). She possesses experience in graphic design, marketing, systems design, manufacturing, distribution, human resources, and software development and training. Just prior to The Jackson Clinics, she worked as a marketing director and small business consultant.

Anna picked up the game of golf about 8 years ago and enjoys a pretty day on course with her husband. She has three great kids who are very tolerant of her work ethic. A self-confessed software addict, she gets a kick out of updates and new tools that make administrative systems more efficient and creative ideas easier to develop. Good food, books, and world travel keep her interests. Just before Covid, she joined the Peloton family. She enjoys many of the instructors, but some of her favs are Cody, Tunde, Robin, Emma Lovewell, and Ally Love. Favorite candy bar – Snickers.
Education:Ben graduated from the University of Delaware with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. There, he worked as a Graduate Assistant in the research department, developed a paper for publication in APTA’s PT Journal, and graduated first in his class. He completed his undergraduate work the College of William and Mary where he majored in Kinesiology with a pre-med track. At William and Mary, Ben played Division I varsity baseball for 4 years and graduate Phi Beta Kappa. He is also a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, and Board Certified Direct Access Provider and MBA Candidate at George Washington University. Ben has been certified as a clinical instructor from the American Physical Therapy Association.
Specialties:Ben is interested in rehabilitation of orthopedic conditions of all kinds. He has extensive experience with athletic injuries, postoperative care, chronic pain, and exercise prescription and progression. He is an educator at many levels in The Jackson Clinics, including teaching courses for professional development, mentoring new graduates, mentoring physical therapy students, mentoring orthopedic residents, and mentoring Clinic Directors and Office Managers on clinical operations. He has a passion for professional development, involvement in the APTA, and involvement in global initiatives for the advancement of the profession of physical therapy.
Fun Facts:Ben enjoys playing sports and is a Wiffle Ball Champion! He is also an avid fisherman and spends as much time as possible on the water. He loves to travel, and has worked with the Jackson Foundation to teach physical therapy in Ethiopia and Kenya as part of the ongoing Africa Programs.
Cindy graduated from the University of Baltimore with a B.S. in Physical Therapy. She also received her M.B.A. from Strayer University and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University. Cindy is a Board Certified Direct Access Provider.
Cindy has over 20 years experience in outpatient physical therapy. She has treated patients as young as 5 months and as old as the mid-nineties. She has a strong background and interest in spine and muscle imbalance problems of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions, including treating headaches. She is very experienced in sacroiliac problems, including chronic cases and pregnancy related issues. Cindy also enjoys and is experienced with pediatric patients including developmental delays, cerebral palsy, torticollis and head injury. She is also experienced in treating a variety of upper and lower extremity problems such as rotator cuff injuries, ACL injuries, and total knee replacements.
Cindy is an Anglophile. She loves to vacation in England and enjoys reading books on English history. Cindy has a cat named Stormy, who snores!
Education: Dr. Porter graduated from The University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2007. Kris is a Board Certified \\\”Orthopedic Clinical Specialist\\\”. Dr. Porter graduated from the orthopedic physical therapy residency program at The Jackson Clinics in 2009, and since that time has served as a mentor in the residency program and eventually took on the role of residency director in 2011. He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the orthopedic, research, and education sections. Dr. Porter is an APTA certified \\\”advanced clinical instructor\\\” and is the instructor for The Jackson Clinics “Advanced Mentoring” course. Kris has and continues to serve as a clinical instructor to physical therapy students from various universities and has served as adjunct faculty at Marymount University. Dr. Porter is co-author of the peer-reviewed \\\”Pelvic Girdle\\\” Current Concepts monograph published by the APTA, wrote a chapter on \\\”Plantar Heel Pain\\\” in 2014. Kris is committed to improving the profession of physical therapy globally and has been involved in physical therapy education programs in Peru, Bhutan, Ethiopia, and Kenya.
Specialties: Kris is skilled in treating musculoskeletal disorders of the entire human-machine, except the hand and women\\\’s health disorders. If Dr. Porter is not proficient in treating your condition fully, Kris has a broad inter/intra-disciplinary network and is happy to recommend another therapist, physician or other healthcare provider that can help manage and restore function as soon as possible. He works with patients of all ages and abilities to include competitive athletes, but he does not work with infants. He also makes custom orthotics for the foot and related disorders of the knee and above.

Education:Phillip is a 2012 Duke University graduate with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He completed his undergraduate work in 2009 at University of Tulsa in Tulsa, OK with a degree in Exercise Sports Science and a minor in Psychology. In 2012, he completed a specialty certification in Vestibular Therapy and Rehabilitation. He is also an active APTA member in the orthopedic and neurology section and a member of the vestibular/dizziness special interest group.
Specialties:Phillip has a strong interest and background in treating all orthopedic injuries and post-operative rehabilitation. He has worked closely with MD’s from the Steadman-Hawkins clinics for numerous post-operative care patients from high school through geriatric populations. Phillip also has a real passion for working with patients suffering from vertigo, dizziness, imbalance, and other vestibular disorders. He has worked extensively with conditions such as Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), Unilateral vestibular loss, bilateral vestibular loss, Meniere’s disease, and disorders of the central nervous system. He is also plays an active role in the Jackson Clinics Vestibular Team and the further development of the company’s vestibular programs.
Fun Facts:Phillip is an avid sports fan of all types, although his heart lies with basketball. He has played basketball in competitive leagues since age 9 and has been a part of numerous intramural champions throughout his undergraduate and graduate career, including a championship won in Cameron Indoor Arena on Coach K Court. Phillip is a feverish Duke Blue Devil and Tulsa Golden Hurricane Fan. In his spare time, he can be found working out, shooting hoops in the local park, enjoying a good sports game on television, or hanging out with his friends and family.

Education: Chelsea graduated from Duke University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2016. She completed her undergraduate work at Radford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise, sport, and health education with a focus in sports medicine. Chelsea has been a member of the APTA since 2013 and is a certified clinical instructor.
Specialties: Chelsea has a background in treating a variety of orthopedic conditions throughout the lifespan with a strong interest in treatment of the neck and temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJD). She is a strong believer in taking a holistic approach to treatment, seeing each patient as an individual and assisting them in attaining their specific rehabilitation goals.
Fun Facts: Chelsea is a huge Duke and Virginia Tech fan having grown up in Blacksburg, VA. Outside of the clinic she enjoys hiking, spending time with family, playing board games, and attending renaissance festivals.
Education: Claire earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Grand Valley State University where she worked as a graduate assistant. During PT school she served as President of the Michigan Physical Therapy Association Student Relations Committee, and was Chair of the Community Advocacy Committee and Historian for her class. Claire graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Western Michigan University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences with minors in Chemistry and Spanish. She is a Board Certified Direct Access Provider and an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor. She graduated from The Jackson Clinics Orthopedic Residency in 2016 and became a Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) after passing the specialty board examination. Claire has been a member of the APTA since 2010 and served as the Secretary for the Northern District of the VPTA from 2013-2017. In 2013 she received the DPT Visionary Foundation – Gary L. Soderberg Doctor of Physical Therapy Award. She traveled to Africa with The Jackson Clinics Foundation to help educate physical therapists in the OMPT class in Kenya in 2016, and to mentor DPT students in Ethiopia in 2017.
Specialties: Orthopedics. Claire enjoys treating patients with a variety of musculoskeletal and neurological impairments and has a particular interest in manual therapy. She is experienced in treating a variety of orthopedic conditions and sports injuries in areas such as the shoulder, knee, neck, ankle, spine, and sacroiliac joint and has worked with high-level amputees in the military.
Fun Facts: Claire loves soccer, snowboarding, cycling, hiking, kayaking, and exploring the outdoors. She enjoys music, travel, and learning random/useless facts. She has two fur babies, Maverick and Squirrel (a cat). She likes to experiment in the kitchen and has a particular fondness for Blue Moon ice cream and anything from The Mitten State (Michigan).

Education: Liz graduated from Shenandoah University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in August 2015. She completed her undergraduate work at Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise in May of 2012. She traveled to Kenya in December 2016 to assist with teaching the Lumbar Spine and Pelvic Girdle, as a part of the ongoing Jackson Clinics Africa Programs. Liz recently completed our Orthopedic Residency Program and is now an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist.
Specialties: Liz has a strong interest and background in orthopedic and overuse injuries and post-operative rehabilitation. She has experience working with various sports injuries, as she worked with the Virginia Tech Sports Medicine team and cheerleading and dance teams. She has a strong passion for injury prevention and helping patients return to activities that they enjoy.
Fun Facts: Liz loves being active and traveling, with any excuse to go somewhere new. She usually can be found hiking somewhere, whether it be in the Shenandoah Valley, out West or in Scotland with a wounded warrior organization she volunteers with. One of her biggest passions is running. She completed Marine Corps Marathon in 2016 and hopes to finish it again this year. During the fall, you can often find her in front of the TV, watching college football and cheering on her Hokies.
Education: Emily graduated from Slippery Rock University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2017. She also completed her undergraduate work at Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science.
Specialties: Emily has a strong interest and background in treating sport and orthopedic injuries as well as post-operative rehabilitation. She has experience treating neurological disorders and working with a variety of patients with special needs. Emily enjoys working with patients of all ages to help them reach their goals and perform at their greatest potential.
Fun Facts: Emily is form Lancaster, Pennsylvania and enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, skiing, biking, and rock climbing. She is hoping to participate in her third triathlon this summer and enjoys playing the guitar. Emily enjoys traveling and has had the opportunity to provide physical therapy services in Peru and is looking forward to traveling to Kenya this summer with The Jackson Clinics.

Fun Facts:Erin is a native of Fairfax, Virginia, attending Fairfax High School. In her free time Erin enjoys coaching a club field hockey team with girls from high schools all over Northern Virginia. Outside of that she enjoys anything outdoors or reading a book on a rainy day.

Specialties: Dr. Summers works with a wide patient population, and has experience treating neurological and orthopedic pathologies, including post-operative conditions and vestibular dysfunction. As an athlete herself, Jeanine always had an interest in becoming a clinician in orthopedics. Following her residency, Jeanine became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Jeanine enjoys treating patients of all ages and orthopedic conditions, with the greatest interest and training in the knee, hip, and shoulder conditions. She loves guiding patients through their rehabilitation process, increasing their confidence, and allowing them to return to the things that make them the happiest. Currently, Jeanine is a mentor and faculty member for The Jackson Clinics orthopedic and sport residency programs. She teaches evaluation and manual therapy of the knee as part of The Jackson Clinics residency content. Jeanine is also a mentor in our new hire mentoring program.

Jeanine was a college basketball player at Ithaca College and has always had a great passion for sports. She is an avid Duke men’s basketball fan, and enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends.
Education: Jeff earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2019 from American International College. Fun Facts: Kathryn enjoys a variety of sports including swimming, running, and was a member of the equestrian team in college. She continues to enjoy horseback riding on the weekends.

Education: Rachel graduated from George Mason University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training. She later obtained her Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from Southern New Hampshire University in 2017. She is nationally certified as an Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Board of Certification and licensed through the Virginia Board of Medicine.
Specialties: Being involved in sports her entire life, Rachel enjoys working with athletes of all ages who are trying to return to the playing field- whatever that field may be.
Fun Facts: Rachel is a huge sports fan and some of her past work experience involves working with the Washington Nationals. Since working with the Jackson Clinics she has expanded her on field experience to include various ProCamps for Kids with local professional athletes as well as professional wrestling. Away from work she enjoys travelling and spending time with friends and family.
Education: Rachel graduated from Slippery Rock University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2017. Rachel also received her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Slippery Rock University as well.
Specialties: Rachel has prior experience utilizing various manual therapy techniques treating a variety of orthopedic and post-operative injuries. She strives to use her passion for health and wellness to assist in injury prevention and help patient’s reach their personalized individual goals. Rachel is also certified in trigger point dry needling.
Fun Facts: Originally from Western PA, Rachel has a passion for cheering on all Pittsburgh sports teams. In her free time, she loves exploring new hiking trails, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Education: Ryan graduated from Drexel University with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Prior, he completed his undergraduate education at the Pennsylvania State University, graduating from the Schreyer Honors College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. His honors thesis was completed investigating anatomical differences between sprinters and non-sprinters. Ryan has been an active APTA member since 2016, founding student physical therapy special interest groups across Pennsylvania.

Specialties: Ryan has a diverse background in treating orthopedic injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation such as rotator cuff and labral repairs, ACL reconstructions, and total hip/knee replacements. He also has a special interest in treating running and weightlifting related injuries, with significant experience coaching collegiate track & field athletes. Ryan is skilled in performing running gait analysis and enjoys educating the running community on improving performance and preventing injuries via weight lifting. Overall, Ryan is passionate about treating all orthopedic injuries and helping his patients avoid further injury or surgery when possible.
Fun Facts: In his spare time, Ryan loves being active through running, hiking, mountain biking, and fly fishing. He ran track & field for 9 years. During his undergraduate career, he was the sprinting/head coach of the Penn State Club Track & Field team, winning 2 national championships. Since retiring from track, Ryan now enjoys long runs and has since competed in the Philadelphia Half Marathon.
Education: Sara graduated from Emory University with highest honors with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2015. She completed her undergraduate work at Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise. She completed the Jackson Clinics Orthopedic Residency in 2016 and became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist in 2017. She is a certified direct access provider and a Certified Clinical Instructor. She is a current Jackson Clinics Upper Extremity Athlete Fellow and is scheduled to complete the program in May 2019.
Specialties: Sara has been a member of the orthopedic section of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2012. She traveled to Kenya in February 2016 to assist teaching a module on the shoulder, elbow and hand as a part of the ongoing Jackson Clinics Africa Programs. Sara completed the upper extremity lymphedema certification in November of 2017. She has since taken a large interest in post-breast cancer rehabilitation. She believes physical therapy can be a tremendous asset in helping patients post lumpectomy, mastectomy, radiation or chemotherapy return to their prior level of activity.
Sara has a strong background in orthopedic injuries and post-operative rehabilitation. Having worked with the track and field, baseball, and cheer-leading teams while at Virginia Tech, she has experience working with a variety of sports injuries. She has a strong interest in swimmers as she swam year-round throughout her childhood. She continues to have a strong passion for helping athletes with overuse injuries return to the playing field.
Fun Facts:Sara sailed for Virginia Tech’s club team. She enjoys swimming and loves being active outdoors. She loves to work with runners as she is a runner herself. She ran the Marine Corp Marathon in 2016 and has run several half marathons and 10 milers. She loves to travel and will find any excuse to go somewhere new. Abbey graduated from South College in Knoxville, TN with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in June 2020. She completed her undergraduate work at Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercises as well as a minor in Psychology. Abbey has been a member of the APTA since 2018.

Abbey has always had an interest in treating the athletic population and spent time working with athletic trainers while at Virginia Tech. She also enjoys working with patients with neurological and vestibular pathologies and who are experiencing balance dysfunction and dizziness/vertigo. Fun Facts:
Abbey has grown up in Maryland making her a huge Baltimore Ravens and Orioles fan. She can also be found cheering on the Virginia Tech Hokies in all sports, especially football and basketball. Education: Abhinav graduated from the University of Delhi and went on to complete a Masters degree in Sports Physical Therapy at the University of Amritsar. He then went to the U.S. to complete his doctoral degree in physical therapy (DPT) at Utica College in New York.

Specialties:Alisha has nine years of experience in the field of orthopaedic Physical Therapy and is highly trained in treating a variety of orthopaedic conditions including the spine, shoulder, knee, hip, and ankle. She has a special interest in treating post-surgical patients and the athletic population.

Education: Mandy graduated from Drexel University with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in April 2019. She completed her undergraduate coursework in Kinesiology at the University of Virginia. Specialties: Mandy is interested in a wide range of orthopedic conditions, particularly those commonly seen in youth and female athletes. Having grown up playing a variety of sports, Mandy values helping patients return back to the sport they love or preventing injuries before they happen. Fun Facts: Mandy is a passionate sports fan, especially for UVA Basketball and the U.S. Women’s National Team. Amanda graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in May 2018. She then went to Thomas Jefferson University and got her Doctorates in Physical therapy in May 2022. Amanda has been a member of the APTA since 2019.

Amanda is a native of northern Virginia and is a former 1st degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and still enjoys learning other types of martial arts. In her free time, she enjoys weightlifting, calisthenics, playing video games, and trying new board games with friends.

Education: Annie graduated from The University of Pittsburgh with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in April 2019. She completed her undergraduate work at Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a Movement Science focus. Annie has been a member of the APTA since 2016.
Specialties: Annie has a strong interest and background in orthopedic and sports related injuries and post-operative rehabilitation. Throughout her DPT program, Annie helped run injury prevention screenings for various running groups and freshman dancer screenings for Point Park University, along with providing race day medical support for The Pittsburgh Marathon. She enjoys finding innovative ways to prescribe sport-specific rehabilitation as well as helping all patients get back to the activities, they’re passionate about.
Fun Facts: Annie is a former soccer, softball, and volleyball player. She enjoys traveling, exploring the outdoors, and staying active, whether she’s bike riding, paddle boarding or playing a pick-up game of sand volleyball. As a Pittsburgh native, she’s an avid Steelers and Penguins fan.
Education:Barbara received her Bachelors in Physical Therapy from Florida International University and her Masters in Administrative Science from Johns Hopkins University. She received her Athletic Training Certification from George Mason University and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Arcadia University in Philadelphia. Barbara is a member of the Orthopedic and Sports Chapter of the APTA and a member of the NATA.
Specialties:Barbara has a strong interest and background in treating all orthopedic injuries, from post-operative rehab to chronic conditions. Barbara is certified in SFMA1, SFMA2, and FMS, a movement-based diagnostic system used to help identify the primary source of movement dysfunction and pain. Barbara is a certified provider in the Graston Technique and offers instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization. She also is certified and trained in Concussion Management (CMC) and can provide a comprehensive targeted approach following concussions from SPORT, MVA or FALLS.
Fun Facts:Barbara loves to be active and explore the outdoors. She enjoys hiking with her husband and her dogs on the many Virginia trails. Barbara’s claim to fame is raising her two daughters- Laura, a practicing lawyer in Virginia, and Kelley, a rising physical therapy student. Ben graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in August 2020. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. While at MUSC, Ben had a hand in a pilot study in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and its effect on lower extremity motor units.

Ben has an interest and background in orthopedic injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, postural re-education, and powerlifting. During a clinical rotation, Ben became interested in a series of studies detailing Olympic-style weightlifting and its effects on bone density in postmenopausal women and otherwise low bone density men. He very much enjoys teaching people who have never done a deadlift in their life how to perform one well and loves showing people who never thought they\\\\\\\’d go near a barbell how rewarding strength training can be. Athletes who know their way around a gym are also in Ben\’s wheelhouse, and he enjoys ironing out their approach to pumping iron.
Fun Facts:
Despite doing all his higher education in the state of South Carolina, Ben had never previously set foot in the state and instead grew up in North Carlina and Georgia. He enjoys working out and watching a great many sports, chiefly baseball. He is an Atlanta sports fan, for better or (more commonly) worse. Education:Cassie graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in 1989 with a BS in Physical Therapy. She is an active orthopeadic section APTA member and regularly attends continuing education courses offered by the Jackson Clinics Residency Program.
Specialties:Cassie’s specialty is outpatient orthopeadics. She enjoys helping people feel better, move better, and function better with the basic activities of everyday living, as well as helping them get back to doing what they love to do. In addition to providing manual therapy and exercise guidance, Cassie enjoys educating people to a greater understanding of their individual physical situations. She has a particular interest in treating dysfunctions of the spine, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, and ankle.
Fun Facts:Cassie landed her first job at Johns Hopkins Hospital because of a foot massage. She and her husband hiked Half Dome. Her favorite family vacation spot is Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

Fun Facts: Collin enjoys playing sports in his free time like ice hockey, football, and basketball. Collin looks forward to joining rec league teams within his area. Cristina Belmonte, PT, DPT

Education: Dan graduated from George Washington University in May 2010 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. During this time, he worked as a graduate assistant on numerous research projects studying the effects of concussions on delayed motor responses in athletes. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Florida where he received his bachelor of Health Science. Dan is also a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and Board Certified Direct Access Provider.
Specialties: Dan is a 2012 graduate of the Jackson Clinics’ Orthopedic Residency Program and he is a 2015 graduate of the Jackson Clinics’ Upper Extremity Athlete Fellowship program. Dan is involved in residency and fellowship mentorship and is the director of the fellowship program. As an upper extremity fellow, Dan has a strong background in treating the overhead athlete, specifically baseball players. As a two-time marathon finisher, he has a strong interest in treating runners of all skill levels, and as a CrossFit athlete, Dan understands the movements and physical demands of CrossFit and regularly works with patients to treat and prevent CrossFit related injuries. In 2018, Dan completed Precision Nutrition’s Level 1 Certification Program and loves to nerd out on the impact of nutrition on performance.
Dan was the 2nd TJC therapist to travel to Ethiopia (2011), and taught a module on evaluation/assessment of the lumbar spine to students in the Black Lion Hospital DPT program. Dan also taught a module on the upper extremity to physiotherapists at Kenyatta Medical Training College in Nairobi, Kenya and returned to teach at the East Africa Regional Physiotherapy Symposium (2018). He has been a lead instructor for Evaluation and Manual Therapy of the Upper Extremity (Jackson Clinics’ Residency Curriculum) since 2016, Movement Systems Treatment of the Upper Extremity (Jackson Clinics’ Residency Curriculum) since 2015, and taught lectures on the shoulder at VPTA annual conference, INOVA Sports Medicine Symposium, and GWU DPT program.

Education: Jacob graduated from Shenandoah University with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in August 2018. He completed his undergraduate at Korea National Sports University with a Bachelor in Art degree in Physical Education where he had many opportunities to work with Olympic-level athletes. He also completed officer training from the Korean Army and served as a platoon leader and a logistic officer.
Specialties: Jacob is a CMTPT/DN(Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist /Dry Needling) who can perform dry needling on big and small muscles, as well as hands and feet. Jacob has a strong interest and background in return to sports rehabilitation, performance enhancement, and injury prevention for junior/adult athletes as well as weekend warriors. Jacob also has a lot of experience working with youth and people with long-term disabilities from his teaching experiences in Taekwondo and volunteering experiences from local churches.
Fun Facts: Jacob is from Seoul, South Korea who came to the U.S to pursue his dream to become a doctor of physical therapy. He is a jack of all trades; he has multiple black belts from Taekwondo (4th degree), Hapkido (2nd degree), and Judo (1st degree). He is a PAID certified advanced diver and an NSCA certified CSCS & CSPS with a big interest in powerlifting and functional movement enhancements. Fun Facts: Logan is a former Division 1 volleyball player from the University of Delaware and continues to enjoy playing indoor, beach, and grass volleyball. She also loves running outside in the summer and skiing in the winter!

Madalyn graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2021. She completed her undergraduate work at Christopher Newport University with a Bachelor of Science in Cellular, Molecular, and Physiological Biology.

Madalyn has a strong interest in treating a variety of orthopedic injuries. She played soccer throughout high school, so she enjoys working with athletes and returning them to the sport that they love. Recently, Madalyn began pursuing her interest in treating pelvic floor dysfunction. She is particularly passionate about treating women both antepartum and postpartum.

Meena graduated from the master’s in physical therapy program with a specialization in neurosciences from Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, India in August 2018. She completed her bachelor’s in physical therapy from Meenakshi College of Physiotherapy, India.

Meena has been working as a physical therapist for over 10 years. Her experience has led to a strong interest in motor control and re-learning with her patients of all ages and with all conditions. She enjoys working with patients regularly with a focus on gait training, balance and coordination. This has motivated her to work in both musculoskeletal and neuro outpatient rehab settings so far in her career. She is highly interested in working with patients who are motivated to achieve independence in their activities of daily living and return to work, play, and family life.
Fun Facts:
Meena enjoys reading fiction in English and her native language, Tamil. Realistic fiction is her favorite genre. Likewise, she enjoys watching movies based on real-life and books. Her latest interest is creating her personal board game collection. She is a trained singer in Indian classical music and hopes to be able to explore this interest more intensively in the future. She prefers to travel by train, when the option is available. And considers reading a book and playing board games with her kids while traveling on a train to be an ideal vacation.

Education: Megan graduated from Lynchburg College with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy is May 2017. She completed her undergraduate work at Longwood University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science and a Minor in Biology. She has been a member of the APTA since 2014, and is currently a member of the Orthopedic Section in addition to the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. Megan recently completed our Orthopedic Residency Program and is now an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist.
Specialties:Megan has a strong interest in orthopedic injuries and sport specific rehabilitation, as well as injuries of the neck and back. As a former track and field and cross country runner, Megan has a strong background in competitive running, and enjoys working with avid runners looking to return to sport. In addition to running, Megan is a former high school assistant swim coach, and enjoys working with swimmers both on land and in the water. She has also had experience working in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, as well as working with patients with neurological disorders included dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
Fun Facts:A Newport News native, Megan loves to spend her down time near the water, and loves to go kayaking with her dog Reese. She enjoys spending time with her family, and loves to stay active- lifting weights, running, swimming, and spending time outdoors.

Education: Michael graduated from The George Washington University in 2010 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and was accepted into the National Alpha Eta Honor Society. He graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Anthropology and Anatomy and was a member of the wrestling team where he was twice named to the Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll. As a former Division I athlete, Michael has a strong interest in treating athletes of all ages and experience levels. Michael has a strong interest in education and has developed and taught courses on the upper extremity to fellow medical professionals. Mike is heavily interested in sports physical therapy and will be working towards earning his SCS as a part of the sports residency. As a former collegiate basketball player, he has a strong background in competitive sports. Experience:Renae has over 20 years of clinical experience, outpatient as well as inpatient rehabilitation. She enjoys treating a wide variety of orthopedic conditions to include ankle/foot, elbow, hip, sacroiliac and cervical spine dysfunctions, shoulder and knee problems. Renae has experience in treating neurological conditions, post-operative and non-operative shoulders and knees. She is especially interested in Strain-Counterstrain techniques and has taken several courses to master this discipline. Renae also had the opportunity to travel to Ethiopia as a clinical mentor to assist in teaching the students with Addis Ababa University.
Fun Facts:In her spare time, Renae enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering her time at her church and children’s schools, as well as leading a Girl Scout Troop.

Education: Robert graduated from Regis University with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2011. He completed the Orthopedic Residency Program the following year in 2012. He received an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) and is a Board Certified Direct Access Provider. In 2018-2019, he completed a Foot/Ankle Fellowship and has expertise with the whole lower extremity.
He has been to both Ethiopia and Kenya as part of PT related services and continues to support these programs wholeheartedly. He is interested to work with PT Universities in the future to maintain service and education on a regular basis.
He is a member of the APTA and AOFAS as professional organizations. This allows excellent resources to related treatments and services in Physical Therapy. In addition, he teaches or co-teaches up to 3 classes within The Jackson Clinics each year.
Specialties: Robert has an OCS and is a Fellow for the foot/ankle. He has developed specialties with treating orthopedic foot surgeries, neural pathologies, orthotic prescription, runners, and other lower extremity conditions. He has interest in injury prevention and can include ergonomics, healthy living (nutrition/exercise), and wellness.
Fun Facts: Robert has competed in multiple sports from soccer to gymnastics all the way through college. He is very interested in injury prevention and screening processes to determine individuals who are at risk for certain types of injuries. He grew up in Colorado and is an avid Broncos fan!!
Education:Ryan graduated from Duke University with his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree in 2017. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine with a minor in Psychology at Radford University in 2014. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Radford and was awarded “Sports Medicine Major of the Year” by his professors his senior year. Ryan completed The Jackson Clinics’ Orthopedic Residency and became Board Certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2020. Ryan has been a member of the APTA since 2014 and is an APTA Certified Clinical Instructor.
Specialties:Ryan has experience in treating a variety of orthopedic conditions and is especially interested in shoulder, ankle/foot, knee and lumbar spine conditions. Having undergone physical therapy, himself, for a baseball injury as a teenager, Ryan has a particular interest in working with adolescent athletes and returning them to a competitive level as quickly and safely as possible.
Fun Facts: Ryan is a Northern Virginia native and has grown up as a fan of all Washington sports teams. While he may have left Duke, the Cameron Craziness has not left him, and during college basketball season you will find him cheering on the Blue Devils. Education: Sonal graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University. She also worked as a teacher in rural India and DC Public Schools for 7 years and earned her Master’s in Applied Teaching from American University. She graduated from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology with a sub concentration in urban inequalities.
Specialties: Sonal has experience treating individuals with various orthopedic conditions, including the shoulder, back, and knee. She has treated pediatric populations for impairments related to various conditions, including torticollis, toe walking, cerebral palsy, and developmental delay related to autism and developmental coordination disorder. Sonal has also treated geriatric populations for impairments related to Parkinson’s disease, myasthenia gravis, rehabilitation post-hip fracture, and Guillain-Barre.
Fun Facts: Sonal was trained in classical South Indian dance, called Bharatanatayam, and loves watching modern dance performances. She has a passion for creating and teaching visual art. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, yoga, reading historical fiction and nonfiction, and watching movies with good company.
Education: Stephen graduated from University of Pittsburgh with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in December 2021. He received a graduate certificate in rehabilitation science and Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from George Mason University prior.

Fun Facts: Stephen played basketball locally at Robinson High School and with the Fairfax Stars AAU organization. She has completed extensive continuing education, including a 9 month full-time advanced orthopedic manual therapy residency, and has been an instructor for courses on the foot and ankle and for a motion analysis lab at a university level. Susan has been formally educated and professionally trained in a wide range of approaches with a strong emphasis on manual therapy and evidence based practice. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to treat a large number of patients in the sports medicine population including professional athletes, collegiate athletes and Olympians as well as the general outpatient orthopedic population. Specialties: Kristen has a special interest in orthopedic and sports physical therapy. She has experience rehabilitating collegiate athletes with sports-related injuries and post-surgical conditions. She also has experience in research and participated in a project using diagnostic ultrasound imaging to assess trunk musculature to try to predict those patients with low back pain who would benefit from a stabilization program (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23228626). She has a particular interest in lower extremity conditions including the hip, knee, ankle, and foot. She also specializes in trigger point dry needling, which is the insertion of needles into trigger points in muscles to help accelerate the return to function.

Education: Karra graduated from Brigham Young University with her Bachelor’s in Athletic Training in May 2020. After graduation, Karra worked as an ATC in an outpatient sports medicine clinic focusing on injury prevention and rehabilitation with athletes.

Specialties: Denise has over 25 years of clinical expertise in outpatient and inpatient rehabiliation. Denise has extensive experience in sacroiliac dysfunction, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, rotator cuff rehabilitation and treating total joint rehabilitation of the knee and hip. She has a background in sports medicine working with athletic teams at Boston University. She is particularly interested in treating tennis players, figure skaters, and equestrian sports and is experienced treating most sports injuries including tennis and golfers elbow, ACL tears, and achilles ruptures.
Fun Facts: Denise enjoys playing competitive usta and interclub league tennis. She has two dachshunds, Winnie and Seabiscuit.
Education: Cindy graduated from the University of Baltimore with a B.S. in Physical Therapy. She also received her M.B.A. from Strayer University and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University. Cindy is a Board Certified Direct Access Provider.
Specialties: Cindy has over 20 years experience in outpatient physical therapy. She has treated patients as young as 5 months and as old as the mid-nineties. She has a strong background and interest in spine and muscle imbalance problems of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions, including treating headaches. She is very experienced in sacroiliac problems, including chronic cases and pregnancy related issues. Cindy also enjoys and is experienced with pediatric patients including developmental delays, cerebral palsy, torticollis and head injury. She is also experienced in treating a variety of upper and lower extremity problems such as rotator cuff injuries, ACL injuries, and total knee replacements.
Fun Facts: Cindy is an Anglophile. She loves to vacation in England and enjoys reading books on English history. Cindy has a cat named Stormy, who snores!
